Cambridge company flies to the rescue of Connaught House Hotel

When a London City airport hotel discovered its 17-room conversion was in danger of being grounded, it turned to a family-run UK company for help.

The 4 star Connaught House Hotel was converting staff accommodation into 17 top quality bedrooms to meet both the airport market and the forthcoming Olympics.

When a previous supplier was unable to meet the opening deadline Cambridgeshire-based joinery company Strata Panels were called in to design, quote, build and install.

And they were up to the task, despite a tight three-week deadline.

Steve Evans of the Connaught House Hotel explains: “I actually became aware of Strata Panels after seeing an editorial they ran about supplying 45 student bedrooms in 7 days. Speed was of the essence for us and they came promptly to assess our requirements.”

Each bedroom was different and required individual design to provide the best furniture combination, including assorted beds, bedside units, wardrobes and desk units.

Mr Evans adds: “There was a quick turnaround from design to installation; I would certainly recommend Strata Panels on any of our future developments.’
