Team GB heroes offered a golden stay in The Lakes

A Lake District hotel is offering all of Team GB's Olympic Medal winners a free stay as a reward for their sterling performances.

The four-star Wordsworth Hotel and Spa is Grasmere backed Britain’s Olympic athletes all the way and wanted to give them a break from training and the Capital and invite them for a relaxing break in the north.

However, for the thrill seekers that don’t like the idea of winding down, the Lakes still offers plenty of active things to do.

Says General Manager Geraldine McKay: “Olympic fever has been high throughout the country and we thought this way a nice way to give back to the athletes who have given Great Britain so much.”

The family-owned Wordsworth Hotel and Spa hotel has been carefully refurbished over the last two years yet it has retained its great ambience, character and charm while ensuring it has that a stylish and luxurious edge that modern travellers expect.

It is set in two acres of riverside gardens,with views of the mountains and Grasmere Vale providing the perfect spot to relax, explore, indulge or pamper.
